  1. Wouldn't be the first post I've ever done that has been too cryptic.

But my how soon we forget - no wonder the social engineers are able to fool so many so so easily

A clue in the revealed photograph all the people in it are members of Her Majesties armed forces and they are out of uniform

  4. It's the Royal Navy dweebs who were seized (without a fight) by the Iranians. And who then proceeded to discredit an ancient and honourable branch of the services. grrrr....

  5. Seems to me that they were in Iraqi waters illegally and were detained and released.

And they also seem a hell of a lot braver than you!

Back off you armchair warrior. Opinions like yours get young soldiers killed.

  6. Grow up, Cartwright. In fact logs and radio traffic records later proved that they weren't in Iraqi waters.
And you have absolutely no way to measure my bravery (or lack of it), asshole, since you don't know me.

  7. Whatever the merits or otherwise of the Iranian actions, Cartwright, the fact remains that these people were swanning around the Persian Gulf in boats in a situation where there were other people, men actually, who had hostile intent.

And that such men may be encountered should have been anticipated and the people who were likely to encounter them should have been chosen to be of the caliber to be able to deal with any confrontation that was likely to ensue.

The Queensbury rules do not apply in such circumstances.

And why a woman with a small child at home was put into such a situation is beyond bizarre.

Actually, the question was whether they were in Iranian waters - Iranian forces have no right to kidnap people in Iraqi waters. The fact that these people willingly participated in propaganda for their captors genuinely did bring shame on their service and their country. People who can't grasp that concept shouldn't sign up for the armed services in the first place.

  9. Well they certainly weren't in British waters.

KG - I'll hazard an educated guess from your postings that you are an armchair warrior.

Offer some evidence to the contrary and I'm happy to withdraw my comment. Otherwise I'll stick with my guess.

About as useful as your powers of divination...

  11. You stick with your guess, Cartwright--and continue to make a complete ass of yourself in front of a couple of people around here who know the truth. :)
