Poor Jack and Jill didn't get their water

The two British Government Climate change advertisments based on nursery ryhmes shown on the left have been banned for exagerrating the threat. You can hold your mouse over them to view them in fuller glory

According to the Advertising Standards Agency the advertisement made exaggerated claims which went beyond mainstream scientific consensus.

More than a little embarrasing for Ed Miliband, the Environment Secretary who had sponsered their creation. Nevertheless he is still putting a favorable spin on it.

Ed Miliband, the Environment Secretary, said that that his department had been "comprehensively vindicated" by the ASA but promised to better reflect scientific uncertainty about global warming in future campaigns.

So he is promising they will do better next time.
